AEW New Year’s Smash notes: Omega & The Good Brothers, Rosa vs. Baker, Brodie Jr.

Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson compete on Dynamite, Thunder Rosa vs. Britt Baker added to Beach Bash, Brodie Jr.'s birthday and more notes.

AEW World Champion Kenny Omega and IMPACT Tag Team Champions Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson picked up a win over Griff Garrison, Brian Pillman Jr. and Danny Limelight at New Year’s Smash night two. The match came about when Don Callis announced Gallows and Anderson to be Omega’s partners for the night instead of The Young Bucks.  During a backstage segment, Callis told Matt and Nick Jackson that they should have their own entrance and he ended up introducing The Good Brothers to team with Omega.

Following their win, Jon Moxley brawled with Omega, Gallows and Anderson. The Young Bucks came out to the ring to calm the situation down but were attacked by Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero M. Omega, Gallows and Anderson are teaming at IMPACT Wrestling’s Hard To Kill pay-per-view against Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) and IMPACT World Champion Rich Swann.
