WWE Champion Drew McIntyre is scheduled to defend his title against Goldberg at the Royal Rumble. McIntyre has not been present on the past two episodes of RAW because he tested positive for COVID-19. After appearing on the 1/18 show via satellite, McIntyre stated that he will be back on 1/25 and on that show, he’ll come face-to-face with Goldberg ahead of their title match.
The Miz and John Morrison hosted The Dirt Sheet on the 1/18 RAW. Goldberg was promoted as a guest but coming out for the segment was Duane “Gillberg” Gill. Duane suffered a heart attack in late November and tonight was his first WWE appearance since February of 2017. During the segment, Drew McIntyre’s theme hit and playing the role of McIntyre was actor David Krumholtz, who starred in the CBS series ‘Numb3rs’.

In the main event, Alexa Bliss pinned RAW Women’s Champion Asuka after hitting the ‘Sister Abigail’ finishing maneuver.
AJ Styles took on Ricochet and prior to the match, WWE producer Adam Pearce told Ricochet that if he could pick up a win, he’d earn his way into the 2021 men’s Royal Rumble match. Ricochet did not win the bout but the conclusion of the match saw AJ suplex Ricochet off the ropes, catch him by his legs and then hit the Styles Clash for the victory.

Also, Omos who accompanies AJ to the ring is now being called “Omas”.
The Hurt Business (Shelton Benjamin, Cedric Alexander & Bobby Lashley) were in six-man tag team action against Riddle, Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado. There was some dissension between RAW Tag Team Champions Alexander and Benjamin that resulted in Benjamin shoving Cedric out of the ring.
