The current MLW World Middleweight Champion Lio Rush competed on the current season of MTV’s The Challenge and after multiple weeks of being on the series, Rush announced on tonight’s episode that he was stepping away from the game to be with Sarah Lai Wah, his pregnant wife.

T.J. Lavin, the longtime host of MTV’s The Challenge gave Rush his props for stepping away to take care of his mental health. The official Challenge Twitter account passed their respect along to Rush as well.

Rush posted a detailed message onto his Twitter page which explained why he decided to leave the game. He noted that it was one of the hardest decisions he’s ever had to make and noticed that he had never been so vulnerable until he arrived in the house. Rush thanked all in The Challenge house that helped him grow.

Rush is competing during GCW’s Fight Forever 24 hour special and on January 29th, he’ll be making his debut for the NJPW Strong program after competing in the company’s Super J-Cup tournament.
