Sasha Banks vs. Carmella officially announced for the Royal Rumble

During SmackDown, it was announced that Sasha Banks will defend the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Carmella at the Royal Rumble.

During Friday Night SmackDown, it was officially announced that Sasha Banks will defend the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Carmella at the Royal Rumble.

The match was set-up last week with Banks agreeing to defend the title if she could face Reginald first. Banks defeated Reginald in a four-minute match on this week’s episode where it was confirmed that the title match would take place on Sunday, January 31st.

The show also saw Dolph Ziggler and Sami Zayn added to the men’s Royal Rumble match while Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott were inserted into the women’s Rumble match.

*Last Man Standing for the WWE Universal Championship: Roman Reigns (champion) vs. Kevin Owens
*WWE Championship Match: Drew McIntyre (champion) vs. Bill Goldberg
*SmackDown Women’s Championship: Sasha Banks (champion) vs. Carmella
*Men’s Royal Rumble Match: Daniel Bryan, Bobby Lashley, Randy Orton, Big E., AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Otis, The Miz, Jey Uso, Cesaro, Jeff Hardy, Sami Zayn, and Dolph Ziggler
*Women’s Royal Rumble Match: Nia Jax, Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair, Bayley, Dana Brooke, Mandy Rose, Peyton Royce, Alexa Bliss, Shayna Baszler, Tamina, Ruby Riott, and Liv Morgan
