WWE RAW tops cable charts without sports competition, demo falls

On a night where RAW had no sports competition, it finished atop the cable charts although had a significant decrease in the core demographic.

Monday’s Royal Rumble go-home edition of RAW averaged 1,819,000 viewers and a 0.52 in the 18-49 demographic. While finishing first among all of cable, the show was down a small amount in viewership but fell 13 percent in the key demo.

The show began with 1,904,000 viewers and a 0.57 in the 18-49 demo featuring Drew McIntyre and Bill Goldberg’s segment kicking off the show. In hour two, they fell to 1,838,000 viewers and a 0.51, and hour three dropping to 1,716,000 viewers and a 0.47. The first to third-hour drop was 10 percent in viewers and 17.5 percent in the 18-49 demo.

In viewers, they equaled their performance from January 11th, but that episode went against the Alabama vs. Ohio State College Football game that did 18.2 million viewers. It was RAW’s lowest demo figure since December 28th, which did 0.52 as well.

RAW scored well among men 12-34, which was up by 31 percent this week and only fell 5 percent throughout the show. The largest decline was among women 18-49 falling 18 percent from last week and then dropped an enormous 28.5 percent from the first to the third hour.

The 18-34 demo stayed even from last week but fell 15.5 percent throughout the program.

In Canada, RAW did 307,300 viewers on Sportsnet 360, which was up 24.8 percent from last week’s number. This week, RAW only had to contend with a Toronto Raptors game whereas last week went against a Toronto Maple Leafs game.
