**ORIGINAL STORY**
Sendai Girls’ Pro Wrestling co-founder and 25-year veteran Meiko Satomura began her stint with WWE as a part of the Mae Young Classic tournament in 2018. In mid-2019, Casey Michael of Squared Circle Sirens reported that Satomura was guest coaching at the Performance Center in Orlando. According to a new report from Yahoo! Japan, Satomura has signed with WWE to be a wrestler and a coach.
It’s noted in the article that Satomura will be a part of WWE UK; home of its NXT UK brand. She’ll be staying in London where the UK Performance Center is located.
Satomura began her career in the mid-90s and has competed in WCW and won many championships in Japan. Back in the summer of 2019, SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks got in contact with Satomura to train with her at the Sendai Girls’ dojo in Japan.
In 2018, Satomura did an interview with Yahoo! Japan and stated that she had plans to return to WWE the following year.
Satomura is headed to the NXT UK brand where current champion Kay Lee Ray has been reigning since August of 2019.
