Finn Balor retained his NXT Championship in the main event of TakeOver: Vengeance Day by defeating Pete Dunne. Following the match, Balor was ambushed by Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch which led to Adam Cole, Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly of Undisputed ERA coming in for the save. As Balor stood in unison with the group, Cole superkicked Balor and superkicked O’Reilly soon after for siding with Balor.
Cole doubled down on his attack on the 2/17 NXT when he ambushed O’Reilly in the six-man tag main event of the show. Cole’s appearance was followed by Pete Dunne pinning Finn Balor.
