AEW has announced that Anna Jay is out of the Women’s Title Eliminator Tournament due to a shoulder injury that will require surgery.
It was announced that Jay, 22, suffered a shoulder injury while training and will undergo surgery and is estimated to miss 6-12 months.
Jay was scheduled to face Dr. Britt Baker in the opening round, which airs later tonight on AEW’s YouTube channel. Jay will be replaced by Madi Wrenkowski, who is a student of Thunder Rosa’s and has competed on several episodes of AEW Dark.
Tonight’s tournament matches streaming on YouTube at 7 pm ET will include:
*Emi Sakura vs. Yuka Sakazaki in the semi-finals
*Aja Kong vs. Ryu Mizunami in the semi-finals
*Tay Conti vs. Nyla Rose in the quarter-finals
*Dr. Britt Baker vs. Madi Wrenkowski in the quarter-finals
