NJPW presenting ‘Wrestle Grand Slam’ at Tokyo Dome & Yokohama Stadium in May

During the Anniversary Show, New Japan Pro-Wrestling revealed that they are running the Tokyo Dome & Yokohama Stadium in May.

New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Anniversary Show took place today and in between the in-ring action, the announcement was made that come this May, NJPW is going to be presenting their ‘Wrestle Grand Slam’ shows. There were two dates announced thus far, being May 15th and the 29th. On the 15th, the company is running out of Yokohama Stadium which is a baseball stadium that has a capacity of 30,000. It’s also home to the Yokohama DeNA BayStars.

Come May 29th, NJPW is returning to the Tokyo Dome just several months after Wrestle Kingdom 15 that concluded with Kota Ibushi holding onto his IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental Championships.

While mentioning Kota Ibushi, he defended the double gold at the Anniversary Show and that was the last defense of those two respective titles as Ibushi is now the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion. The two titles were unified this week.
