One week after Bobby Lashley’s WWE Championship win, Raw maintained its overall viewership while slipping in the key demo but managed to top the cable chart.
Raw averaged 1,897,000 viewers overall with a 0.55 in the 18-49 demographic with viewership up 0.7 percent and the demo falling by 5 percent compared to last week. Of the ten episodes in 2021, eight of them have finished in the 1.8 million range as overall viewership has been consistent weekly even with swings among its key demos.
It was Raw’s second-best viewership of 2021 trailing the Legends Night episode on January 4th but was also their lowest 18-49 rating since February 8th.
The good news was the first hour topped two million viewers, which is the first time an hour of Raw has topped that figure since January 11th with 2,031,000 viewers and a 0.58 in the 18-49 demo. In the second hour, it fell to 1,921,000 viewers and a 0.55 in the demo and the final hour averaged 1,738,000 and a 0.53 in the demo. Throughout the show, Raw declined 14.4 percent in viewers and 8.5 percent in the demo. The show didn’t have the intrigue throughout the three hours of last week’s tease of The Miz vs. Bobby Lashley, which only saw a 5 percent viewership drop throughout the episode, and the drop among the 18-49 was kept under 2 percent.
This week Raw did a big 0.93 among adults over the age of 50, its highest in that category since a “Championship Monday” edition of Raw on June 22, 2020.
Last week they hit a big rating with females 12-34 and this week that number came down dramatically with a 33 percent drop. The other big loss was among adults 18-34 that declined by 18 percent.
All the key demos dropped except adults over 50, which increased by 6 percent.
Throughout the three hours, the biggest loss was among males 12-34 that fell by 21 percent followed by women 12-34 that dropped by 19 percent. Adults 18-34 held strongest with a drop of only 3 percent in the third hour.
In Canada, Raw went against curling coverage with the Brier tournament and averaged 231,300 viewers and 127,400 in the 25-54 demo on Sportsnet 360. Both figures were increases from last week’s episode that averaged 218,000 and 122,700 in the demo.
