Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez started off tonight’s edition of NXT being awarded the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships. The duo were immediately challenged by Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon who they defeated in the finals of the women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament.
That match took place on tonight’s show and the conclusion of it saw Blackheart securing a deep pin onto Kai to win the tag titles for herself and Ember Moon. Within an hour of the titles being introduced to the brand, there have been two pairs of champions.

Also at the top of NXT, William Regal made the announcement that the first two-night TakeOver event is taking place on April 7th and 8th. Night one is airing on USA Network and night two is streaming on the Peacock service.
