Eli Isom officially joined Ring of Honor’s restart in 2021. His first match back for the company was on the March 19th episode of ROH TV and he went on to compete in a Four Corner Survival match at the 19th Anniversary pay-per-view.

ROH began airing new episodes of their weekly program in mid-September with the Pure Title tournament and it was around that time that Eli contracted COVID-19. He was the latest guest on the ROHStrong Podcast and detailed his battle with COVID.

Eli stated that he had body aches, lost over 15 pounds but after several days, he began to feel better. He flew out to Baltimore for the October ROH TV tapings but found out when he got there that he tested positive for COVID once again.

I had COVID in September, like mid-September and it did a number on me. It was horrible. For about four days, I just had real bad body aches and headaches, I lost about 20 pounds in about a week. But after the four days, I started feeling a little better and I eventually tested negative, thankfully and I tested negative on three separate occasions before the October tapings for Ring of Honor. So I was flown in to Baltimore, I had no symptoms, I was feeling better than I had been feeling and we took our tests after arriving and went back to my room then I got a call and they said, ‘Oh, you tested positive again. Are you feeling okay?’ I was like, ‘Yeah, I feel fine. I don’t know how that is possible.’ So then I was sent home. As soon as I got home, I took another test just to make sure and that test came back negative so I was a little worried. I quarantined for ten days just to make sure nothing was wrong. But yeah, that was just a rollercoaster of a couple of days after I got to Baltimore so, but thankfully I’ve had no problems after that. I’ve tested negative each time afterwards, I feel great. I feel the best physically I’ve really felt in a long time. So, I just — very thankful I haven’t had any long term effects from COVID-19.

Isom picked up a win over LSG on the 4/2 edition of ROH TV. He returned to Ring of Honor with new entrance attire and a new nickname as he is now going by ‘Infinite’ Eli Isom.
