Richards began his in-ring career in 2004 and worked with Ring of Honor, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, TNA/IMPACT and a handful of independent promotions over the years.
Back in the Fall of 2020, Richards took to social media (tweets now deleted) and explained why he stepped away from wrestling in 2017. It had to do with him getting 14 surgeries in total throughout his amateur and pro wrestling careers. While he was with TNA, a doctor told him that he had the knee of a 70-year old. Davey wrapped up his series of tweets by noting that he hoped to be back in the ring again.
PWInsider reported several days ago that Richards was close to agreeing to a return for the GSW promotion.
