Headlining night one of WrestleMania 37 was Bianca Belair versus Sasha Banks for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. The match between Belair and Banks was the first time that two Black women headlined a WrestleMania for a championship.

In the end, it was Bianca getting her hand raised to become the new SmackDown Women’s Champion. It was at WrestleMania 36 that Belair arrived on the main roster and a year later, she closed the show and became champion.

Sasha Banks reigned as SmackDown Women’s Champion for six months. She first won the title at the Hell In A Cell pay-per-view from Bayley. As Belair celebrated in the ring, her father almost jumped over the barricade but security prevented him from doing so.
