NXT sets 2021 viewership record and finishes eighth on cable

NXT’s move to Tuesday night saw the show finish eighth among cable programming while maintaining its key demo figure from last week’s TakeOver.

NXT’s move to Tuesday night saw the show finish eighth among cable programming while maintaining its key demo figure from last week’s TakeOver.

The show finished with 805,000 viewers and 0.22 in the 18-49 demographic. It was NXT’s highest overall viewership since the Halloween Havoc special last October while the demo rating equaled last week’s number for TakeOver: Stand & Deliver Night 1. Last week’s episode was simulcast on Peacock, so it had a disadvantage compared with this week’s episode.

Compared with last week, NXT grew most with women 12-34 with a 14 percent increase while men 18-49 improved by 8 percent. In the adult 18-34 demo, they were even with last week’s number but slightly disappointing as they finished lower in that category than the episode from two weeks ago, which did 0.13.

In Canada, NXT finished outside of the top ten sports broadcasts and therefore, was below 106,000 on Sportsnet 360.

Here is a breakdown of the key demos compared with last week’s TakeOver special:
