New Japan Pro Wrestling held its first of two Wrestling Satsuma no Kuni events on Wednesday where the IWGP junior heavyweight tag titles were defended.

In the main event, Roppongi 3K’s SHO & Yoh retained the championship against former titleholders El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru.

The match went more than twenty-seven minutes ending with Kanemaru taking the fall after being with Strong X.

It sets the table for next week’s IWGP junior heavyweight title match with El Desperado defending against YOH in Fukuoka.

Toru Yano defeated EVIL in the first (and hopefully, last) Creation of Darkness Blindfold Match where the object was placing a blindfold over the opponent before pinning or submitting them.

The match lasted fifteen minutes ending with EVIL hitting Dick Togo with Everything is Evil while blindfolded setting up a low blow by Yano for the pin.

The show drew 1,055 to the Nishihara Shokai Arena in Kagoshima where NJPW returns on Thursday for a card headlined by Hiroshi Tanahashi & Kota Ibushi vs. Jeff Cobb & Aaron Henare.

RESULTS:
*Yuya Uemura & Yota Tsuji over Gabriel Kidd & Tiger Mask in 8:48
*Guerrillas of Destiny & Jado over Taichi, Zack Sabre Jr. & DOUKI by disqualification in 7:53
*Hiroshi Tanahashi, Ryusuke Taguchi & Master Wato over Yujiro, Taiji Ishimori & Gedo in 9:35
*Will Ospreay, Jeff Cobb, The Great O-Khan & Aaron Henare over Shingo Takagi, Tetsuya Naito, SANADA & BUSHI in 12:15
