The partnership between WWE and BT Sport was formally announced in the Summer of 2019. BT Sport carries WWE’s weekly programs along with pay-per-view events.

BT is looking to offload some stake in their television department, as first reported by The Telegraph.

The site noted that BT is in conversations with Amazon, Disney and DAZN. The Telegraph reached out to all parties mentioned but did not receive a response. BT did post the following message on their website, confirming that they are in early discussions with a number of partners:

Further to media reports, BT can confirm that early discussions are being held with a number of select strategic partners, to explore ways to generate investment, strengthen our sports business, and help take it to the next stage in its growth. The discussions are confidential and may or may not lead to an outcome.

As more information concerning this development is made public, POST Wrestling will continue to provide updates on the story.
