The welterweight fight between Nate Diaz and Leon Edwards has been pushed back by one month.

Yahoo Sports was the first to report that Diaz suffered a minor injury that will move the fight from May 15th to the UFC 263 pay-per-view event on June 12th.

This will leave the UFC 262 event on May 15th with the main event for the vacant lightweight championship between Michael Chandler and Charles Oliveira as the key attraction.

Diaz and Edwards join the UFC 263 line-up in Glendale, Arizona that includes two championship fights with middleweight champion Israel Adesanya vs. Marvin Vettori, and flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo defending against Brandon Moreno.

Diaz last competed in November 2019 where he lost to Jorge Masvidal by TKO due to a doctor’s stoppage at UFC 244. Edwards is unbeaten in his last nine fights and last fought in March where his fight with Belal Muhammad was ruled a no-contest due to an accidental eye poke.
