The WWE Universal Championship match at WrestleMania Backlash is official as Cesaro will challenge for the title on Sunday, May 16th.

On the “Throwback” edition of Friday Night SmackDown, an impromptu stipulation was introduced during a cameo appearance from Teddy Long that if Cesaro defeated Seth Rollins he would earn the title shot.

During the match, Rollins argued with Jey & the returning Jimmy Uso where he shoved Jey and ate a superkick from Jimmy on the floor. Cesaro capitalized by hitting the Gotch Neutralizer to Rollins and pinned him to earn the Universal title match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania Backlash.

*WWE Championship: Bobby Lashley (champion) vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Braun Strowman
*Universal Championship: Roman Reigns (champion) vs. Cesaro

*SmackDown Women’s Championship:
