Friday Night SmackDown featured a title change as Natalya & Tamina became the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

The duo dethroned Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler, ending their reign that began at the end of January.

Natalya took out Shayna Baszler on the floor with a release German suplex towards the barricade. Inside the ring, Nia Jax hit Natalya with a Samoan drop but upon landing the move, was hit with Tamina’s Superfly Splash and was pinned.

Excluding the 24/7 Championship, it is Tamina’s first championship in WWE after debuting with the company eleven years ago this month. For Natalya, it the first championship she has held since August 2017 when she was the SmackDown Women’s Champion and won the Divas Championship in November 2010.

Kayla Braxton interviewed the new champions inside the ring in an emotional scene with both Natalya and Tamina in tears.
