NJPW cancels June 4th Road to Dominion event

New Japan Pro-Wrestling cancelled the June 4th Road to Dominion show due to the State of Emergency in Tokyo

The Road to Dominion string of shows kicks off today at Korakuen Hall. New Japan Pro-Wrestling will be hosting their yearly Dominion show on June 7th and it is being headlined by Kazuchika Okada and Shingo Takagi clashing for the vacant IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.

There is another Road to Dominion show on June 2nd but the company announced that the June 4th event at Ota City General Gymnasium has been cancelled. The show was cancelled due to the extension of the State of Emergency in Tokyo. Here’s the announcement via NJPW1972.com:

As a result of the extension to the State of Emergency in Tokyo, New Japan Pro-Wrestling has arrived at the decision to cancel the Road to Dominion event previously scheduled for June 4 in Ota-Ku’s Prefectural Gymnasium.

We deeply apologize for any disappointment and inconvenience caused.

June 1 and 2’s events in Korakuen Hall will proceed as scheduled, June 6’s Dominion in Osaka Jo Hall event is now scheduled for Monday June 7.

All ticket holders will be eligible for a refund, with details to be made available soon.

New Japan pushed out several matches for Dominion on June 7th and in addition to the world title match, Jeff Cobb is taking on Kota Ibushi and the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title will be up for grabs as El Desperado defends against YOH.
