Canadian viewership figures for Friday Night SmackDown & Dynamite

For the second consecutive week, Friday Night SmackDown and AEW Dynamite aired on the same night and we have the Canadian figures from June 4th.

For the second consecutive week, Friday Night SmackDown and AEW Dynamite aired on the same night and we have the Canadian figures from June 4th.

In Canada, Friday night’s sports programming was dominated by Game 2 of the NHL playoff series between the Montreal Canadiens and the Winnipeg Jets that averaged 2,376,000 viewers. There was also a late-game that began after SmackDown had ended between the Colorado Avalanche and the Las Vegas Golden Knights that went against Dynamite and averaged 875,000 viewers.

Other sports competition from Friday included the Toronto Blue Jays vs. Houston Astros (which ended just after 10 p.m. ET) and an NBA playoff game between the L.A. Clippers and Dallas Mavericks.

Friday Night SmackDown averaged 109,100 viewers with 35,700 in the 25-54 demographic on Sportsnet 360 from 8-10 p.m. ET. They were down 35 percent in overall viewers and fell 56.5 percent in the demographic.

AEW Dynamite averaged 94,800 viewers and 49,700 in the 25-54 demo on TSN 2 airing from 10 p.m. to Midnight ET. So, while AEW had fewer viewers it did top SmackDown in the demographic. AEW was down 13.4 percent in viewers and decreased by 3 percent in the demo.

It will be the same format this Friday with both programs airing back-to-back beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
