It has been over a decade since the Million Dollar Championship was held as a sanctioned title in WWE. At NXT TakeOver: In Your House, the fifth Million Dollar Champion was crowned and it was L.A. Knight, formerly known as “Eli Drake”.
Knight and Cameron Grimes competed in a ladder match for the title. Ted DiBiase Sr. was ringside for the match and he handed Knight the championship after he won. The final sequence of the bout saw Knight lift the ladder that Grimes was on and Knight flipped Grimes onto another ladder on the outside of the ring.
