Naomichi Marufuji will make the first defense of his newly won GHC Championship next month in Sendai.
Pro Wrestling NOAH has announced that Marufuji will defend the GHC Championship against Takashi Sugiura on Sunday, July 11th on the promotion’s show from Sendai Sunplaza Hall.
Marufuji, 41, ended Keiji Muto’s title reign last weekend at CyberFight Festival with Marufuji becoming champion for the fourth time in his career.
Sugiura is a four-time GHC Champion, first winning the championship in December 2009 with his last reign taking place in 2018 when he defeated Kenoh and dropped the belt to Kaito Kiyomiya.
