NJPW Strong hosting tag tournament in July, Good Brothers announced

NJPW Strong is presenting a tag team tournament in July and former multi-time IWGP Tag Team Champions The Good Brothers are participating

As the 6/18 episode of NJPW Strong came to an end, it was announced that in July, a tag team tournament will take place on the NJPW Strong program. A total of eight teams are scheduled for the tourney and coming back under the New Japan Pro-Wrestling banner for the first time since 2016 are The Good Brothers (Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson).

Gallows and Anderson will be taking on TJP and Clark Connors in the first round of Tag Team Turbulence. The Good Brothers departed New Japan in 2016 for WWE. Since being released from WWE in April of 2020, both Gallows and Anderson have openly stated that they’ve wanted to return to New Japan.

The remainder of the first round match-ups for the tag tournament are listed as followed:

  • The DKC & Kevin Knight vs. Jorel Nelson & Royce Isaacs
  • Brody King & Chris Dickinson vs. Danny Limelight & J.R. Kratos
  • Yuji Nagata & Ren Narita vs. Wheeler YUTA & Fred Yehi
