On Friday Night SmackDown, Zelina Vega returned to WWE and was added to the women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match for later this month.

Vega (Thea Trinidad) was released from her WWE contract last November over issues surrounding WWE’s policy regarding restrictions for talent using third-party platforms.

Her release sparked a debate over unionization among professional wrestlers with Vega having a conversation with SAG-AFTRA shortly after her release from the company.

Prior to SmackDown going on the air Friday, Fighful Select reported that Vega’s name was listed on the internal roster as a heel on the SmackDown side and was set for an imminent return. The same outlet reported last month that Trinidad was seen at the WWE Performance Center in May.

Vega was introduced by Sonya Deville, who added her to the women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match, which led to an impromptu match with Liv Morgan.
