The sexual assault lawsuit against Matt Riddle has been dropped.

Back in the Fall of 2020, Samantha Tavel, who wrestled under the name “Candy Cartwright”, filed a sexual assault lawsuit against WWE’s Matt Riddle. According to TMZ, that lawsuit has been dropped. The publication noted that she filed for the dismissal on Monday.

Tavel’s attorney, John Chwarzynski told TMZ the following:

The parties have put this in their past and are focused on the future.

Tavel alleged that one of the incidents with herself and Riddle occurred in May of 2018 while they were in a relationship. Tavel said that Riddle asked her to perform a sexual act while they were both on a bus with other wrestlers. Tavel was uncomfortable with doing so, but claimed that Riddle placed his hand on her neck and said, “What if I just made you?”

At the time of the lawsuit being filed, WWE issued a statement on the matter and noted that they had not been served by Samantha Tavel.

Riddle has been performing on WWE television on a consistent basis since the initial allegation was made in July of 2020. He is scheduled to participate in this Sunday’s men’s Money In The Bank ladder match.
