Finn Balor made his return to the main roster after making an unannounced appearance on Friday Night SmackDown.
Balor, who has been wrestling exclusively in NXT since October 2019, interrupted Sami Zayn and proceeded to lay out Zayn with a shotgun dropkick and Coup de Grace.

Balor moved to NXT to coincide with the show launching on the USA Network and going head-to-head with AEW Dynamite on TNT. During his time in NXT, he held the NXT Championship from September 2020 until losing the title to Karrion Kross at TakeOver: Stand & Deliver this past April.
Balor will turn 40 years old next weekend and has been with the company since 2014. He began his WWE tenure in NXT that year and was called up as part of the 2016 Draft where he was assigned to Raw and became the inaugural Universal Champion.
