NXT tops 700,000 viewers against NBA Finals, plus Canadian viewership

For the second week in a row, NXT topped 700,000 viewers with the July 20th edition of the show featuring Raquel Gonzalez vs. Xia Li for the NXT Women’s Championship.

Tuesday’s program averaged 709,000 viewers with 253,000 (0.20) in the 18-49 demographic, according to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics.

The number represented a minor increase from last week’s figures of 705,000 and 245,000 in 18-49, which saw Karrion Kross retain the NXT Championship against Johnny Gargano.

This week was NXT’s best performance in overall viewers since May 4th and the best 18-49 figure since June 1st.

It was the final time any wrestling show will go against the NBA playoffs with Tuesday’s series-ending game between Milwaukee and Phoenix averaging 12,517,000 million viewers, per John Ourand at Sports Business Journal.

The game started at 9 p.m. ET against hour two of NXT.

In Canada, NXT fell just outside of the top ten sports programs averaging 69,000 viewers on Sportsnet 360.
