The top matches for NJPW’s Wrestle Grand Slam at the MetLife Dome have been confirmed including a match for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.

The company will run back-to-back nights at the MetLife Dome on Saturday, September 4th, and Sunday, September 5th with the following matches confirmed for Sunday:

In the main event, champion Shingo Takagi will make his second defense of the championship when he takes on EVIL. The match was set up following Takagi’s victory against Hiroshi Tanahashi on Sunday’s show at the Tokyo Dome when EVIL attacked the champion with Everything is Evil and held up the title.

The new IWGP Tag Team Champions Zack Sabre Jr. & Taichi will defend the belts in a three-way match against Tetsuya Naito & SANADA and Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI. ZSJ and Taichi regained the belts on Sunday’s show at the Tokyo Dome defeating Naito & SANADA after Sabre caught Naito with the European Clutch.

Finally, Hiromu Takahashi will challenge for the IWGP junior heavyweight championship when he challenges new champion Robbie Eagles. Takahashi has been out of action due to a torn pectoral muscle and was forced to vacate the junior heavyweight champion because of the injury.

The rest of the card will be revealed later and no matches have been announced for the first night at the MetLife Dome.
