Raquel Gonzalez has been reigning as NXT Women’s Champion since April. On tonight’s edition of NXT, Raquel and Dakota Kai took to the ring and Dakota opened up the door for a talent to come out and challenge Raquel. No one came to the ring and Raquel boasted about that by raising her title to the crowd. When she turned around, she was met with a boot from Dakota Kai.

There was a tag match on the 7/27 show that saw Franky Monet team with Jessi Kamea to take on Kayden Carter and Kacy Catanzaro. Monet took her first pin fall loss in WWE after Robert Stone got in involved and accidentally cost Monet and Kamea the match.

Carmelo Hayes is advancing in the NXT Breakout Tournament. He defeated Josh Briggs to make it to the semi-finals where he’ll meet Duke Hudson. On the 8/3 show on Syfy, Joe Gacy is going to face Trey Baxter in a first-round match-up of the Breakout tourney.
Several more matches were added to next week’s NXT which will include a singles match between Bobby Fish and Diamond Mine’s Roderick Strong. Hit Row (AJ Francis & Ashante Thee Adonis) are taking on Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde of Legado Del Fantasma. In addition to those matches, Johnny Gargano will meet Dexter Lumis in a singles match and if Lumis wins, he gets to date Indi Hartwell but if he loses, he’ll have to leave her be.

Mandy Rose was backstage talking to Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne. Rose has had several run-ins with Franky Monet, Robert Stone and Jessi Kamea since her return to NXT.
