NXT took a drastic hit for Tuesday’s taped episode that aired on Syfy in the United States due to the Olympics.

The show averaged 520,000 viewers with 150,000 (0.12) in the 18-49 demographic, per Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics.

You can’t put much stock in this number given the change in networks and a better representation will be the number for August 10th when it returns to the USA Network. It was also the first week NXT had competition from the Olympics.

NXT will be airing on Syfy next week with another taped show featuring Dexter Lumis vs. Johnny Gargano in a “Love Her or Lose Her” match.

In Canada, the show averaged 57,000 viewers on Sportsnet 360 just outside of the top ten sports broadcasts for the day that was heavily dominated by coverage of the Olympics. Last week’s episode averaged 69,000 viewers in Canada.
