‘The Suplex Assassin’ opens up about his MLW signing.

As Major League Wrestling inched closer to their Battle Riot III and FUSION tapings that occurred on July 10th, they held an Open Draft. One of the newer additions to the MLW roster was announced to be Alex Kane. Alex began his career in wrestling in 2018. He trained in Atlanta, Georgia with AR Fox at the WWA4 school.

During Alex’s appearance on “Da” Podcast, he explained how him joining MLW came to be. When he received his contract, Kane had several family members look over the contract and then he had discussions with people close to him about the move. He knew that was not going to pass up the opportunity.

You know what’s funny? They [MLW] contacted me but it’s funny. Three months before I got the email, me and Zenshi, he also wrestles for MLW, we were talking, he was telling me that I’d be a great fit for MLW. We were talking about that and he said maybe I should send my stuff in to see if I could get something. So, I didn’t do that. I just pondered it or whatever and I just kept doing what I’ve been doing and I checked my email one night and it said ‘MLW’ and I’m like, ‘Mhm, what is this?’ Click on it and they just expressed their interest in having me join and I was like, ‘Well definitely.’ After the initial excitement and stuff, there was no downside when we signed. It’s only going to benefit me. So, I was like, ‘Hell yeah.’ I had some family members of mine that understand legalese and contract stuff go over my contract, talked to some people that I trust but like at the end of the day, this is only going to grow my brand and raise my stock, so there was no way I was passing up this opportunity.

When he was announced during the MLW Draft, it was stated that he is a part of American Top Team. Kane revealed that A.T.T. founder Dan Lambert helped negotiate his MLW deal. Fellow MLW talent King Mo is also under the American Top Team umbrella.

That’s when I signed with MLW [that he joined American Top Team]. Dan Lambert negotiated my contract so with him negotiating my contract, I became a part of American Top Team and once things open up — they are already starting to open up again, I’m ready to start training there with [King] Mo and all of them.

Alex Kane debuted for MLW during the FUSION portion of their return in front of live fans. The Battle Riot III and FUSION tapings took place at the 2300 Arena and MLW is returning to that venue for FIGHTLAND in October.
