The ‘Boogie Woogie Man’ Jimmy Valiant is wrapping up his in-ring career this weekend.
Jimmy Valiant got involved in the business of pro wrestling in the mid-1960s. Valiant, real name James Fanning has been a part of the WWWF and Jim Crockett Promotions and at the age of 78, he’ll be wrapping up his in-ring career on July 31st.
He’ll be in action at the New River Valley Fair in Pulaski County, Virginia. Valiant’s last documented match took place in February of 2020. Valiant talked to WFXR TV and explained that he wants to wrestle one last time in his place of residency.
You have to stop sometime. I’m about 80 years old. Hey, you got to stop the madness, man. It’s time, you know. You just got to pick a time and this is it.
Although the in-ring chapter of his career is coming to a close, Valiant will continue to train students at his school. Valiant is turning 79 in August.
