Maika pins Utami Hayashishita on opening night of Stardom’s 5* Grand Prix

Stardom opened its annual 5* Grand Prix on Saturday with a pay-per-view from Yokohama Budokan featuring seven round-robin matches.

Stardom opened its annual 5* Grand Prix on Saturday with a pay-per-view from Yokohama Budokan featuring seven round-robin matches.

The show was headlined by Maiki pinning the current World of Stardom Champion Utami Hayashishita with the Michinoku Driver II.

The win puts Maika on the board with two points in the Blue Stars block alongside Future of Stardom Champion Unagi Sayaka and SWA World Champion Syuri, who also picked up wins on Saturday’s card.

Sayaka pinned the current Wonder of Stardom Champion Tam Nakano in her opening night match to gain the two points.

The top match in the Red Stars block saw Momo Watanabe defeat Mayu Iwatani while Giulia prevailed over Starlight Kid.
