Tanahashi looks back on his TNA days.

Number 67 of Hiroshi Tanahashi’s Ace’s HIGH series is up on NJPW1972.com. This edition was based around Tanahashi’s time in TNA Wrestling and his move back to Japan to challenge Keiji Muto for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.

Tanahashi reflected on his time in TNA and recalled feeling like there was a two-class system as far as the locker room goes. On the second tier was himself, Volador Jr., Jay Lethal and Xavier Woods, formerly known as ‘Consequences Creed’. Tanahashi stated that he became good friends with Xavier and was happy to see him win the tag titles in WWE and go on to find success there.

It was really a two class system, heheh. You had the top guys in one group, and then I was with Volador, Jay Lethal, Austin Creed (WWE’s Xavier Woods), shoved in a side room (laughs)

Ah, I’d have to say Austin [I got along with the best]. He was always super positive, a great guy. He came into NJPW once, in April 2010. After that, seeing him go on to win the tag titles in WWE and everything, I was really happy to see him do well.

Woods was in action in the 8/2 post-Raw dark match as he and Kofi Kingston took on MVP and WWE Champion Bobby Lashley.

Hiroshi Tanahashi is coming off of challenging Shingo Takagi for the IWGP World Heavyweight Title at Wrestle Grand Slam. Tanahashi is set to challenge Lance Archer for the IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Title at NJPW Resurgence on 8/14.
