Tony Khan gave his thoughts on Max Caster’s promo on the 8/3 episode of Dark.

Prior to an eight-person tag match on AEW Dark, Anthony Bowens and Max Caster of The Acclaimed made their way to the ring and Caster did his signature promo before he wrestled. He brought up Olympian Simone Biles and the conversations about her mental health and also referenced the Duke lacrosse rape case that was widely reported on in 2006.

AEW President Tony Khan appeared on Busted Open Radio and stated that he did not hear Caster make the aforementioned comments as it happened when he was not in the vicinity. Khan described Caster’s comments as “terrible” and because of what Caster said, Khan is now overseeing the editing for Dark and Elevation.

Speaking of [AEW] Dark, last night on Dark, Max Caster’s rap was terrible. I was not out there in the moment when he did it. It was not during Dynamite. I was out back when Max had said this rap. I had not heard it until last night, truthfully. In the editing process, it should’ve been caught. We deleted the episode and reposted it with that edited out but, it shouldn’t have aired and I put such tight controls on Dynamite and this would never have happened there because Max’s raps, I always have gone over them with him and frankly, every segment on Dynamite. I don’t script or write wrestlers’ promos but, the bullet points I give. So, in this case, it shouldn’t have happened and what will happen going forward is I will be taking over the editing of Dark and Elevation myself. I was already editing Dynamite and Rampage and I do a lot and now I will also be editing Dark and Elevation. So, you know, it’s unfortunate that it came to that.

There was a great deal of backlash on social media stemming from the comments.
