The U.S. Title is going to be defended at SummerSlam.

WWE United States Champion Sheamus and Damian Priest both scored singles victories on tonight’s edition of Raw. Sheamus defeated Ricochet and Damian Priest picked up a win over John Morrison. Coming off of their respective wins, the two talents will meet at SummerSlam on August 21st for the United States Championship.

Following Priest’s win over Morrison, he brought up Sheamus’ name during his in-ring promo. Sheamus then made his way out to the entrance ramp and addressed Priest. This led to Priest issuing the challenging for SummerSlam and Sheamus accepting.

Sheamus has been reigning as U.S. Champion since April when he defeated Riddle on night two of WrestleMania 37.  The SummerSlam match card currently has seven bouts with the addition of Priest versus Sheamus.
