Goldberg is set to compete in two more matches.

This Saturday at WWE SummerSlam, Goldberg is getting his shot at the WWE Championship when he goes one-on-one with Bobby Lashley. The bout is going to be Goldberg’s second opportunity to challenge for the WWE Title. Throughout his runs in the company, he has held the World Heavyweight and Universal Titles.

To promote his match and the show, he appeared on WWE The Bump. During the Summer of 2020, Goldberg stated during a podcast appearance that he’s contracted to WWE through 2022 and wrestles two matches per year. While on The Bump, he reiterated that he does have two matches left to go on his contract.

I’m a great fan of both of ‘em [Roman Reigns & John Cena] for what they’ve done individually, for what Roman’s been able to do for the past couple of years is freaking unbelievable. I think it’s fantastic. I think Paul Heyman has a lot to do with that. I’d love a piece of Roman Reigns and I think maybe even more so would I love to get my hands around Cena’s throat but, it’s wishful thinking. We’ll see. Let me take care of Bobby Lashley first and then — hey, I only got one more match, or two more matches on my deal here so, we’ll see what happens.

This match with Lashley is Goldberg’s second of the year. He challenged Drew McIntyre for the WWE Title at the 2021 Royal Rumble.
