CM Punk is back.

For the first time since January 2014, CM Punk returned to wrestling and is signed with All Elite Wrestling.

To kick off ‘The First Dance’ edition of AEW Rampage, the ‘Cult Of Personality’ theme hit over the United Center and CM Punk appeared. During his segment, Punk spoke about why he was away for seven years and feeling that he would never recover physically, emotional and mentally had he stayed where he was.

He acknowledged the talent in the AEW locker room and said he’s looking forward to mixing it up the young talent and settling old debts. He specifically mentioned Darby Allin, who was standing atop of the rafters alongside Sting. Punk stated that he will see Darby at All Out on September 5th.

Punk’s last match occurred on January 26th, 2014 when he competed in the Royal Rumble match.

While promoting Rampage, Tony Khan said on Busted Open Radio that he had no intentions of disappointing those tuning into the show. AEW has yet to formally announce Punk versus Allin, but here’s the updated All Out card:

  • Women’s Casino Battle Royale: Participants TBA
  • AEW World Championship: Kenny Omega (c) (w/ Don Callis) vs. Christian Cage
  • PAC vs. Andrade El Idolo
  • QT Marshall vs. Paul Wight
  • AEW World Tag Team Championships — Steel Cage Match: The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) (c) vs. TBD
  • CM Punk vs. Darby Allin
