Another NXT Title win added to the resume of Samoa Joe.
Headlining TakeOver 36 was the NXT Championship match between champion Karrion Kross and challenger Samoa Joe. This was Joe’s first match since February of 2020 and in that return match, he became a three-time NXT Champion.
The match between Joe and Kross was made official once Joe offered to step down from his role as enforcer of NXT to have the match with Kross who had previously attacked William Regal. Joe captured the NXT Title by hitting his ‘Muscle Buster’ finisher.
