UPDATE: We had previously listed this past week’s episode as the “debut” of Rampage but meant to indicate it as CM Punk’s debut on Rampage.

We have the Canadian television viewership figures from this past Friday with the debut of CM Punk on AEW Rampage and Friday Night SmackDown leading into SummerSlam.

AEW Rampage aired on a one-hour delay in Canada at 11 p.m. ET on TSN 2 and averaged 107,900 viewers and 75,000 in the 25-54 demographic. It’s an impressive figure given that Rampage aired live at 10 p.m. ET on the TSN Direct streaming service, which we do not have figures for.

The Rampage audience was nearly identical to last Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite in Canada that averaged 109,100 and 73,600 in 25-54 but Rampage had the disadvantage of airing an hour later and Canadians having the live streaming option.

Friday Night SmackDown averaged 157,900 viewers and 76,600 in the 25-54 demographic on Sportsnet 360. So, the audience was higher for SmackDown, but they were nearly even in the key demo.

SmackDown finished third among all sports broadcasts for the evening. Rampage finished eighth among total viewers but was fourth in 25-54.

The top sports broadcasts on Friday night were the Toronto Blue Jays vs. Detroit Tigers game and the CFL game between the Montreal Alouettes and Calgary Stampeders.
