Britt Baker would like to have Ruby Soho in AEW, says Ruby looked after her on the indies

Britt Baker speaks about the idea of Ruby Soho and AJ Lee coming to All Elite Wrestling

Ruby Soho and AJ Lee are two names Britt Baker wouldn’t mind having in AEW.

The reigning AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker is coming off a successful title defense against Red Velvet on the debut episode of Rampage. AEW’s All Out pay-per-view is scheduled for September 5th and Kris Statlander presented herself as a potential challenger to Baker’s title.

At All Out, the Women’s Casino Battle Royale is returning where 21 talents are going to be a part of the match. During her panel session at Planet Comicon, Baker was asked to list off a name or two who she would like to see in AEW and she named Ruby Soho, the former ‘Ruby Riott’ in WWE.

One that really sticks out to my mind, someone who kind of was a mentor to me on the indies and really guided me is Ruby [Soho]. Ruby is somebody that I can’t thank enough because she was kind of like my mom. Her and Candice LeRae really, really looked after me on the indies but our northeast, Pennsylvania, Ohio crew so both of them, I love dearly.

For the first time in seven years, CM Punk returned to pro wrestling at AEW’s Rampage show in Chicago. Baker touched on the idea of AJ Lee possibly returning to wrestling as well and joked that she can imagine a mixed tag with herself and Adam Cole taking on Punk and AJ Lee.

I was a big AJ Lee fan. One of the first moves I asked my trainer to teach me when I was training was her finisher ‘The Black Widow’ so that would be really cool. Again, it’s giving the fans what they want. I think the fans, to see both of them [CM Punk & AJ Lee] in a wrestling ring again in 2021, let alone in one that’s not WWE is very — it’s evolutionary. That would be such a moment so, for the moment alone, I would love to see her back in the ring. I’d love to see her in the ring with me.

And speaking of her, I know we said, you know, we don’t really do mixed tags but I could think of a mixed tag that I would like to see involving her [AJ Lee], him [CM Punk], me and somebody else so…
