The former X Division Champion is back in IMPACT.
During the 9/2 episode of IMPACT Wrestling on AXS, Josh Alexander hosted an open challenge for his X Division Championship. Going into the match, it was advertised that a former X Division Champion would answer the challenge and coming out to face Alexander was Jake Crist.

Crist was unsuccessful in his attempt to become a two-time X Division Champion but he is back in IMPACT Wrestling.
He became a free agent in December of 2020. Crist last appeared on IMPACT programming in June of last year. In the mist of the #SpeakingOut movement, IMPACT announced the contract terminations of Joey Ryan and Dave Crist, Jake’s brother. Dave and Jake had been with IMPACT since 2017 and they went on to establish the now-defunct group known as ‘Ohio Versus Everything’ with Sami Callihan and Madman Fulton.
Crist told Wrestling Inc. that it was a mutual agreement between himself and IMPACT Wrestling that led to his departure. The communication between the two sides stopped after the allegations about his brother came to the light.
