The next challenger for the U.S. Title has been determined.
It had been advertised for tonight’s WWE Raw that Drew McIntyre and Sheamus would go one-on-one to determine the next challenger to the United States Title. The conclusion of the match saw McIntyre attempt to hit the ‘Claymore’ but Sheamus ducked it and rolled McIntyre up, held the trunks and got the three count.
It is now official that Sheamus is challenging Damian Priest for the U.S. Title at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view on September 26th.

Damian Priest first captured the title by defeating Sheamus at SummerSlam. He’s had one title defense so far and that was a Triple-Threat involving Sheamus and Drew McIntyre and McIntyre was pinned in the match.
With the addition of Priest versus Sheamus, this is the updated Extreme Rules card:
- SmackDown Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Bianca Belair
- WWE Championship: Bobby Lashley (c) (w/ MVP) vs. Randy Orton (w/ Riddle)
- WWE United States Championship: Damian Priest (c) vs. Sheamus
