ZERO1 held a press conference to announce the end of their relationship with GLEAT.

GLEAT and Pro Wrestling ZERO1 had established a working relationship which saw talent exchanges between the two organizations. The relationship was formally terminated today and announced by ZERO1’s Shinjiro Otani and Oki Okidata. They’ve also decided to strip El Lindaman of the World Junior Heavyweight and International Junior Heavyweight Titles. Lindaman, along with CIMA and T-Hawk are signed to GLEAT and they also work with All Japan.

The reason for the termination of the relationship is because of alleged contract tampering involving Hayato Tamura. There is a recap of the announcement on the official ZERO1 website and writer Oliver Taylor put together a thread on Twitter of what was said during the presser.

  • Otani and Okidata said there was contract tampering involving former ZERO1 World Heavyweight Champion Hayato Tamura.
  • Tamura is a freelancer but he signed an agreement of understanding with the Alpha Japan Promotion agency.
  • Okidata began to receive messages that Tamura was having talks with GLEAT about joining the organization full-time. Tamura had stopped communicating with ZERO1.
  • GLEAT President Hiroyuki Suzuki confirmed to Okidata that there was mutual interest.
  • Shinjuri Otani apologized to the Strong Hearts (El Lindaman, CIMA and T-Hawk), Issei Onitsuka and others who have competed for ZERO1 this year.

Okidata did not say exactly when communication between ZERO1 and Tamura stopped, but Tamura last wrestled for ZERO1 in May and he has worked several shows for GLEAT since starting with the organization in July.
