One day after the announcement that Samoa Joe was relinquishing the NXT Championship, it was revealed that the title will be decided on Tuesday’s episode.

An announcement on Monday evening stated that the four-way match between Tommaso Ciampa, Kyle O’Reilly, LA Knight, and Pete Dunne will determine the new champion on Tuesday’s live episode from the Capitol Wrestling Center.

Samoa Joe won the title from Karrion Kross last month at TakeOver 36 but has not wrestled since. On Sunday night, he posted a short video stating that WWE’s medical staff would not allow him to compete “due to certain injuries” and he is taking a brief hiatus but stated he would be back and warned the next champion he would be coming for them.

Tuesday’s edition of NXT will feature the new look of the brand with the updated logo and an upgrade of the Capitol Wrestling Center.

The show will also see Raquel Gonzalez defend the NXT Women’s Championship against Franky Monet.
