AEW Dynamite notes: Danielson vs. Omega, Baker vs. Soho at Dynamite Grand Slam

Bryan Danielson is challenging Kenny Omega for the AEW World Title and Britt Baker is defending against Ruby Soho at Dynamite Grand Slam

Headlining the Dynamite Grand Slam show at Arthur Ashe Stadium is Kenny Omega taking on Bryan Danielson in a non-title match. The last time Danielson and Omega wrestled was for PWG in 2009.

Ruby Soho won the Casino Battle Royale at All Out and secured herself a shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship. She is getting that title match at Dynamite Grand Slam when she meets the champion Britt Baker.

To close the 9/15 Dynamite, Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston picked up a win over 2point0 (Jeff Parker & Matt Lee). Post-match, Kingston and Moxley were taken out by Minoru Suzuki and Lance Archer. At Dynamite Grand Slam, Moxley and Kingston are taking on Archer and Suzuki.

CM Punk is appearing live on the show ahead of his match at Rampage Grand Slam against Powerhouse Hobbs.

It was previously announced that Cody Rhodes versus Malakai Black is official for next week. Cody made his return to AEW programming on tonight’s Dynamite and brawled with Malakai. Rosario Dawson, who co-hosts the ‘Go Big Show’ with Rhodes got involved in their segment.

FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) are scheduled to face Sting and Darby Allin at the Arthur Ashe show.

Adam Cole made his AEW in-ring debut against Frankie Kazarian and picked up a win. Cole is teaming with The Young Bucks and they’ll be taking on Christian Cage, Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus at Rampage Grand Slam.
