AEW Dynamite was the top cable program on Wednesday and for the second straight week, edged out WWE Raw in the key 18-49 demographic.

The September 15th edition of Dynamite from the Prudential Center saw AEW average 1,175,000 viewers and 574,000 (0.44) in the 18-49 demo, per Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics and Showbuzz Daily.

While the numbers were down 11 percent in viewership and 16 percent in 18-49, it was enough for AEW to own the night and finish #1 among 18-49 and males 18-49 while finishing second with adults 18-34 behind MTV’s The Challenge.

MTV’s The Challenge finished second on cable with 0.40 in 18-49, and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was third with 0.36.

In the 18-49 demo, Dynamite averaged 574,000 viewers compared to 556,000 on WWE Raw, which went against Monday Night Football for the first time this season. The combined viewership for the NFL game on Monday was 15.3 million viewers across ABC, ESPN, and ESPN 2.

It was AEW’s third-highest viewership mark of 2021 and the sixth-highest number in 18-49 for the year. It’s also the fourth consecutive week that AEW has averaged more than one million viewers.

AEW also topped Raw in males 18-49 (404,000 to 324,000) and adults 35-49 (387,000 to 368,000).

Raw narrowly beat Dynamite in adults 18-34 (187,000 to 186,000) and was higher among females 18-49 (231,000 to 169,000), females 18-34 (94,000 to 68,000), and females 35-49 (139,000 to 101,000). (Credit: Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics)

In Canada, AEW Dynamite averaged 104,100 viewers and 63,000 in the 25-54 demographic on TSN 2. The numbers fell 31 and 30 percent respectively, which was surprising given the Toronto Blue Jays had an afternoon game and didn’t conflict with Dynamite in Canada. After beating Raw in the 25-54 demo last week, Raw was in command this week with 103,000 viewers in that demo.
