Adam Cole loves the idea of Kevin Owens joining AEW

With the report of Kevin Owens' WWE contract expiring in January, Adam Cole commented on the possibility of Owens joining AEW

Adam Cole comments on the possibility of Mount Rushmore reuniting in AEW.

In the month of September, All Elite Wrestling officially added Ruby Soho, Adam Cole, Bryan Danielson and Lee Moriarty to their talent roster. It was reported on 9/8 by Fightful Select that Kevin Owens’ WWE contract is set to expire in January 2022.

The news came about after Owens tweeted and deleted the coordinates to Mount Rushmore, which is in reference to the PWG stable that consisted of himself, Adam Cole and The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson). Adam Cole was the most recent guest on Renee Paquette’s Oral Sessions podcast and he said he wants Owens to make the best decision for himself, but he does love the idea of Owens coming to AEW.

And I mean this because I’m friends with Kevin [Owens]; I want Kevin to do what makes him happiest so of course. It’s true though. I really mean it. I really mean it. I mean it in my soul. However, of course I would love the idea of him joining me and The Young Bucks and everybody else here. That would be incredible. However, I do want Kevin to be happy, I do. So there’s no part of me that would be angry or upset with whatever his decision is but…

Speaking about his time in WWE, Cole recalled WWE showing interest in Britt Baker. He said representatives of the company inquired about Baker’s status and availability.

Oh definitely, because Britt [Baker] was in such an interesting spot where it kind of — because of AEW and again, because she’s so talented but stuff blew up for her kind of overnight or that’s how it felt. Again, she had been doing some great independents, she had been doing well and formed relationships with other girls or other promoters and all of a sudden, here she is with this brand new company that is just on fire and she’s knocking it out of the park but yeah, I know for sure that NXT was interested in saying, ‘Hey, you know, if Britt’s available, please let us know’ and I know AEW was interested in me as well so it was an interesting kind of back and forth of, ‘Oh, it’d be cool if you came here or it’d be cool if I came there.’ But again, we were both under contract. Not much we can do but we did fantasize about those things, yeah.

Cole was in action alongside The Young Bucks for the Rampage Grand Slam taping at Arthur Ashe Stadium. The results from that taping can be read here and to listen to POST Wrestling’s recap of Dynamite Grand Slam, head over to the POST YouTube channel.
